Eel Festival

Comune di Comacchio

In Comacchio, amidst the colours of the sky and the reflections on the water, amidst the sounds of nature and the charm of folk culture, the Eel Festival is back.

Three special weekends dedicated to traditional cuisine. The festival will open on Friday 25 September at 8.00 pm with a Michelin-starred dinner by the multi-award-winning chef Igles Corelli, holder of five Michelin stars, who will prepare creative haute cuisine dishes accompanied by wines selected by sommelier Annalisa Barison.

The undisputed star of the event will be the eel, celebrated through its most traditional dishes and paired with the renowned ‘Vini delle Sabbie’ wines. Over the course of the three weekends, there will be no shortage of cookery demonstrations, masterclasses, shows, markets and excursions, offering visitors the chance to experience Comacchio through its flavours, traditions and natural and cultural heritage.

In 2026 too, Comacchio will once again be transformed into a vast, city-wide festival, involving the entire historic centre: from the picturesque Trepponti to the Manifattura dei Marinati, an iconic venue housing the historic Sala Fuochi, where wild eels from the Comacchio Marshes are still roasted to this day.
